The Back Road to Briery Branch in the Shenandoah Valley

We took a trip to Bridgewater, Virginia, and went for a drive in the countryside one afternoon. We made our way to Briery Branch in the Shenandoah Valley and stopped along the way to take some picturesque photos.

We took a small winding road. Here’s a farm along the road.

Here we’re at Ottobine and turned south on State Road 257.

Stopped by the side of the road. The George Washington National Forest is in the background.

These friendly horses came up to us and apparently thought it was time for supper as they came to visit.

Here’s a old barn along the way towards Briery Branch.

And a quaint dam and waterfall.

And another view.

And here is a horse and buggy of an Old Order Mennonite family.

It’s a beautiful part of the country and some of the most scenic parts of the valley are out-of-the way. Just explore!
