California Sunsets
Southern California is known for its sunshine and along with it comes sunsets. Since I have been living in California I have seen some pretty spectacular sunsets and have managed to take pictures of a few. This post shares some of these pictures.
One late afternoon a group of us were hiking in the Palos Verdes area south of Los Angeles and came to an ocean view just in time to see the sun setting in the ocean.
At another time during a walk along Redondo Beach we again observed the sun setting in the ocean.
The birds in the surf were oblivious to the pretty sunset.
One New Years day we visited the Venice area of Los Angeles and caught this sunset reflecting in one of the waterways.
Moving from the coast to the mountains one time when we were at Big Bear while waiting for the fireworks on the fourth of July we caught this sunset over Big Bear Lake.
A little later the reds deepened.
During a winter visit to Big Bear sunset colors served as a backdrop to the snow covered ski slopes.
Moving to San Diego the clouds provided a nice pattern for the sunset colors.

Another sunset gave the illusion of fire coming from the hillside.
